what are they...?

Karolina and I were at the headlands art center for a halloween party/opening in which she had a couple pieces. The headlands is in Marin just north of the golden gate. They do artist residences and there is a hostel. All on the most beautiful coast line which used to be a military base. All the building are pre-WWII army-style. This is the view from the hostel front porch(formerly officers quaters). Those are piles of cedar trees being 'harvested'
